Eritrean-Swede Alexander Isak signs with Spanish Premier League Real Sociedad

The Eritrean-Swede international forward moved to Spain’s top league after a great spring season in the Dutch league also known as Eredivisie during a loan spell with Willem II in 2018-19. Alexander’s deal was completed in a €10 million transaction from Borussia Dortmund, where his talent was not being used much despite his ability to perform at a high levels. He was highly touted by 9th place Real Sociedad of La Liga at the time following a great season with Willem II.Alexander was unveiled by the Spanish club in June of 2019 as he signed a five-year deal that keeps him with the club through June 2024. At 19 years of age when he signed, the Eritrean-Swede international departs Dortmund after three seasons of a learning curve. His style of has been in line with the finesse driven Spanish La Liga. He was on fire from the moment he got his opportunity with Real Sociedad. He has scored over 32 goals and is currently being touted for one of the two big La Liga teams in Barcelona or Real Madrid but even more touted by teams like Arsenal, Man United, Man City, Tottenham in the British Premier league. While Alexander plays for the Swedish national team and has contributed a lot to his home, he is also deeply rooted and proud of his Eritrean roots.
