Merhawi Kudus has finally gotten his national championship of Eritrea jersey. He will be able to help his team EF Education-EasyPost as it is among those threatened by relegation although they have some leeway. Merhawi can help out as the team needs a good Vuelta that should see them through. In the past week many fans with Eritrean roots lined the track to greet Merhawi Kudus. Merhawi who is always available and kind to his fans was easily available. Riding for the American EF Education-EasyPost team this is one of the big events of the year and Merhawi as a national champion of Eritrea in 2022 is proud to represent his nation’s flag. It is to be recalled that Merhawi Kudus, won the 171.7 km men’s elite competition riding 43.3 km per hour when he became the national champion of 2022.
Now in its fourth stage EF Education stands at 11th place in the general classification while Merhawi is in the top half all riders in the race. That should change once he competes in the mountain races where his specialty is. Wishing EF Education and Merhawi and his team a great race.
