Eritrean-Dutch Hennos Asmelash signs with a Polish Club.

Top talent in the Dutch premier league who made a transfer to Ukraine’s premier league last year has now found a new club in the lower tier of the Polish League. Hennos Asmelash left Ukraine right at the beginning of the war with Russia. While his life might not have been in immediate danger, he still had an adventurous trip back to his family’s home in Holland. After sitting the past few months due to the world cup and taking time to market himself, Hennos has decided to make a move to get back to playing as he continues to grow his career.

Hennos is an amazing talent who plays defense but has a lot of skill with strong physical play. He has now joined the Polish side Wieczysta Krakow this week from the Ukrainian Ingulets Petrowe. The 23-year-old right-back signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with Wieczysta Krakow, with the option of a one-year extension. Before making his move to the Ukrainian league, Hennos played for the Dutch clubs’ ADO Den Haag and was on loan to TOP Oss. Hennos Asmelash will be wearing the number 44 jersey. It is to be recalled that another Eritrean national team player and University of Akron standout Ezana Kahsay also made his way to the second tier of the Polish league playing for Motor Lublin FC. Ezana also played in the league that Hennos is playing in before he was transferred a year ago.

Congratulations to Hennos Asmelash as he continues to grow. He is definitely a player to watch for the Eritrean national team in his right-back position.
