Meet 6 foot 9 Eritrean-Swiss Yafet Haile. Yafet who grew up in Switzerland started to play basketball at a young age. The talented young man was a member of the U-19 Swiss National Championship team (GC Basketball). He also played for a Swiss National Champion runner-up team (Starwings Basket). Yafet is the son of Eritrean immigrant parents and came to America from Swiss to pursue his dreams as a basketball player. After attending a University in Texas for a short period he transferred to play for the Mules of Central Missouri University where he will also be majoring in Economics.

Yafet also connected with Eri-internationalsports and through a collaboration with our network and Eritrean-American college basketball coach Alexander Loul, he was able to get excellent advice based on his ability to play at the collegiate level. Yafet has interest to play for the Eritrean national team and he can bring much-needed size to the team as basketball in Africa seems to be growing fast. While UCM seems to be an NCAA division 2 school, the level of competition is intense. The University also has excellent facilities and a huge fan base where basketball is a huge sport. Eri-internationalsports wishes Yafet a great season and hope to see him doing well going forward.
