Day 1: Friday, July 15th, 2022
Men’s 3000 Meters Steeplechase Heats. Yemane Haileslassie. Time of race Oregon Local time 17:15 (5:15 PM) East Coast 20:15 (8:15 PM) and it will be 3:15 AM Next morning in Eritrea. This is to qualify for the final round) Yemane is expected to get through as one of the top steeplechase runners in the world.

Day 2: Saturday, July 16th, 2022
Women’s 10,000 Meters Finals. Dolshi Tesfu & Rahel Daniel. Time of race Oregon Local time 12:20 (Noon + 20) East Coast 15:20 (3:15 PM) It will be 10:15 PM in Eritrea. Both Rahel and Dolshi have a good chance to win against some of the best runners in the world in this classification.

Day 3: Sunday, July 17th, 2022
Biggest Day for TEAM ERITREA as the Men’s Marathon and the 10,000 meters both will take place on this day. Marathon in the morning and the 10,000 meters in the afternoon. The Marathon will start at 6:15 AM Oregon Local Time. East Coast time will be (9:15 AM) while it will be 4 PM in Eritrea. Meanwhile the 10,000 meters will start at 13:00 (1:00 PM) Local Oregon time, which will be 4:00 PM East Coast Time and in Eritrea it will be 11:00 PM at night. Eritrea will be represented by 4 marathoners Filmon Ande, Goitom Kifle, Oqbe Kibrom, & Hiskel Tewolde in a field of many other runners from around the world. The lone representative of Eritrea for the 10,000 meters is Habtom Samuel. Eritrea’s chances are good.

Day 4: Monday, July 18th, 2022
Another Big Day for TEAM ERITREA as the women’s Marathon takes place while the final of the 3,000 Meters Steeplechase takes place later in the evening. The Marathon will start at 6:15 AM Oregon Local Time. East Coast time will be (9:15 AM) while it will be 4 PM in Eritrea. Meanwhile the 3,000 Meters Steeplechase will start at 19:20 (7:20 PM) Local Oregon time. East Coast it will be 10:20 PM at night and in Eritrea it will be 5:20 AM in the morning (next day). Eritrea’s women representative in the marathon is the great Nazret Woldu who has a great chance of finishing in the top. Meanwhile, Yemane Haileslassie should have a great chance of finishing in the top as well.

Day 5: Tuesday, July 19th, 2022
NO ERITREAN TEAM EVENTS.

Day 6: Wed. July 20th, 2022
One event for team Eritrea in the men’s 5,000 meters Heats. The time is 16:25 (4:25 PM) local Oregon Time. The time in the east coast will be 7:25 PM in the evening which will make it 2:25 AM next morning in Eritrea. Merhawi Mebrahtu will be the sole representative for Team Eritrea and hopefully will qualify to the finals as this is the heat round where the numbers will be reduced for the finals.

Day 7: Thursday, July 21st, 2022
This is also another day for the Men’s 5,000 meters Heats as it takes two days to reduce the amount of runners. Merhawi Mebrahtu could very well run on this day. We don’t have the day when he is scheduled, but for the sake of information, we shall provide the time, which will be 18:10 (6:10 PM) Local Oregon time making it 9:10 East Coast time and 4:10 AM Next Morning in Eritrea.

Day 9: Saturday, July 23rd, 2022
The women’s 5,000 meters Finals will take place on this day. This is one of the more exciting events as Eritrea’s Rahel Daniel and Eritrean American Weini Kelati go head to head. The event starts at 18:25 (6:25 PM) Local Oregon time making it 9:25 East Coast Time and 4:25 AM Next morning in Eritrea. Wishing both ladies the best.

Day 10: Sunday, July 24th, 2022
The Men’s 5,000 Meters Final will be held on the last day of the entire World Athletics Championship event. Merhawi Mebrahtu should he qualify in one of the heats mentioned above will compete on this day. The event takes place starting at 18:05 (6:05 PM) Local Oregon Time making it 9:05 PM East Coast Time and 4:05 AM next day in Eritrea.
